I have attached a file of my support comment as it was too long to type in the section.

This resolution is based solely in fear of a virus. The virus is mostly effective against those with a preexisting condition or the elderly. To quarantine and isolate the vast majority of the population will be a death sentence to small businesses. Because that is truly the only businesses it will effect. At some point in time people have to take responsibility of their actions and realize that there are consequences. For those that would value safety over freedom will have neither.

Please do not take away our rights to choose. If this passes are we going to have to go through all this everytime that this virus comes around. It isn't going anywhere.

Complete Overreach on the Cities part. Enough is enough.

This is overreacting with government overreach (again) trying to control people now that college students are back in town. This ordinance is not the solution. For the most part, citizens of Brookings have been very responsible and self-governing.

Please think of our health, and the health of our economy, and adopt Resolution 20-072. The proposed amendments follow public health guidelines to protect our citizens and keep our businesses' doors open--even if they have reduced hours. Let's protect the most vulnerable members of our community and let's keep our economy strong. We're in this together. These restrictions are a small price to pay to ensure that Brookings comes out of COVID-19 stronger than ever.
