7.A. ORD 21-001 Introduction and First Reading on Ordinance 21-001, an Emergency Ordinance Amending Emergency Ordinance 20-029 to Extend and to Comprehensively Adopt Provisions to Address a Public Health Crisis and to Revise Certain Measures which are Necessary for the Immediate Preservation of the Public Health, Safety and Welfare of the City and are Necessary to Slow the Community Spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the City of Brookings, South Dakota. Second Reading: February 9, 2021.
I strongly support the continuation of this ordinance. Brookings has consistently been one of the safest cities in SD because of our vigilance on this matter, and we owe it to our population’s health and safety to not let down our guard prior to phase 2 vaccine availability.
numbers are down. both hospital and deaths. people are responsible. stop the MANDATORY masks. recommend and suggest mask wearing. let the citizens decide. also, open up retail stores and restaurants. no more restrictions. open up buffets. businessmen are hurting, badly. let the citizens govern themselves. enough is enough. it going on a year. businessmen need to run their businesses. lift restrictions, now ! !
