Disc brakes use a rotor and caliper system to stop the vehicle. They offer better heat dissipation, velocity tires quicker response, and stronger stopping power—ideal for high-speed or performance driving. Drum brakes, found mostly in rear wheels, use brake shoes inside a drum. They’re more cost-effective and simpler in design but less efficient under heavy braking. Most modern cars use disc brakes on front wheels and sometimes on all four.
